El cultivar Fino de Jete se originó como una selección local a finales del s. XIX en la población granadina de Jete, ubicada en pleno valle del Río Verde, zona natural de expansión de esta variedad. Es un cultivar autofértil, rústico, con precocidad de cosecha y productivo, resistente al transporte. Los árboles de la variedad Fino de Jete se encuentran perfectamente adaptados al clima subtropical fresco de la zona de producción, presentando una importante resistencia al frío que es habitual en el mes de enero en la Costa Tropical de Granada-Málaga.

The Fino de Jete cultivar originated as a local selection at the end of the 19th century in the Granada town of Jete, located in the heart of the Río Verde valley, a natural area of ​​expansion of this variety. It is a self-fertile, rustic cultivar,  with an early harvest and productivity, resistant to transport. The trees of the Fino de Jete variety are perfectly adapted to the cool subtropical climate of the production area, showing significant resistance to the cold that is common in the month of January on the Tropical Coast of Granada-Málaga.
