La piña tropical MD2 es un híbrido de piña desarrollado en los años 90 en Costa Rica. Esta variedad se caracteriza por su alto rendimiento, su resistencia a las enfermedades y su excelente calidad de fruta.

Es exigente en cuanto a condiciones térmicas, por lo se debe plantar a cotas inferiores a 100 metros sobre el nivel del mar, incluso, es recomendable proteger el cultivo con malla o plástico.

MD2 tropical pineapple is a pineapple hybrid developed in the 1990s in Costa Rica. This variety is characterized by its high yield, disease resistance and excellent fruit quality.

It is demanding in terms of thermal conditions, so it should be planted at altitudes below 100 metres above sea level. It is even advisable to protect the crop with mesh or plastic.
