Son frutos que necesitan horas frío. Los arándanos cultivados crecen a pleno sol, en invierno soportan hasta -28 ºC, mientras que durante la floración la tiene que ser superior a -5ºC. Requiere suelos con buen drenaje, materia orgánica elevada, húmedos y frescos pero que no se encharquen. El pH debe ser ácido con un intervalo lo má aproximado a 4,5-5,5, A tener en cuenta que produce fruto sobre madera del año anterior y que las ramas de 4 ó 5 años no producen frutos de calidad.

They require soils with good drainage, high organic matter, moist and fresh but not waterlogged. The pH must be acidic with a range as close to 4.5-5.5 as possible. It should be taken into account that it produces fruit on wood from the previous year and that branches that are 4 or 5 years old do not produce quality fruit.
