(*) Cuando decimos calibres pequeños sin calsificar, estos calibres son mucho más grandes que los calibres standar que se suministra como buen calibre en otros azafranes de origen Holanda o Teurel.

PLANTACIÓN Se planta de junio a últimos de Septiembre para que saque floración de mediados a últimos de Octubre. La profundidad 12 ó 14 cm. es suficiente para terrenos francos con posibilidad de riego, si el terreno es de secano hemos de profundizar un poco más hasta los 20cm. Distancia entre bulbos 4-6cm.

CULTIVO El azafrán, no necesita grandes cantidades de agua resiste bien la sequia, pero lógicamente si no le falta el agua sobre todo en períodos claves, tendremos más cosecha de bulbo, y por lo tanto de flor. Momentos clave son, cuando empieza a enraizar, últimos de Agosto a finales de Septiembre, otro momento seria en Febrero, y en la primavera Marzo Abril que es cuando engorda el bulbo. A últimos de Mayo estaría para poderlo sacar de la tierra, limpiarlo y dejar hasta Septiembre para plantarlo de nuevo. Es recomendable sacarlo cada 3 años.

DESBRIZNADO Cortar los estigmas justamente por debajo de su unión con el estilo, el corte se realizara de tal forma, que los 3 estigmas permanezcan unidos.

PLANTING  Plant from June to the end of September for flowering from mid to late October. A depth of 12 or 14 cm is sufficient for loamy soils with the possibility of irrigation. If the soil is dry, we must plant a little deeper, up to 20 cm. Distance between bulbs 4-6 cm.

CULTIVATION  Saffron does not need large quantities of water and is resistant to drought, but if it does not lack water, especially during key periods, we will have a larger harvest of bulbs and therefore flowers. Key moments are when it begins to take root, from the end of August to the end of September, another moment would be in February, and in the spring March April, which is when the bulb fattens. At the end of May it should be possible to remove it from the ground, clean it and leave it until September to plant it again. It is advisable to remove it every 3 years.

TRIMMERING  Cut the stigmas just below their junction with the style. The cut will be made in such a way that the 3 stigmas remain joined.
